"Mush", "Gee", "Haw", and "Trail" are just a few of the terms we will be using in our classroom this month.  We are going to be following the "Last Great Race on Earth."  In other words the Iditarod.  The race begins on Sunday and will last a few weeks.  You can get online and follow along with us if you'd like.     www.iditarod.com

These two young ladies entered their essays in the DAR Historical Essay Contest.  Both were recognized by the Stephen A. Douglas Chapter for their outstanding essays about the Transcontinental Railroad.  Ariana and Andi were recently honored at a luncheon held by the DAR.  Andi's essay has been chosen as the winner of the district competion and will also compete for the state-wide competion.  We are  very proud of both girls.
